During his teaching career he attained a master’s degree in education, and was engaged in PhD research at Manchest

During Simon’s career as an osteopath, he has shown an interest in chronic pain and its management, and subsequently he attained a master’s degree in pain management from The University of Cardiff, School of Medicine. His interest in chronic pain (with a particular interest in fibromyalgia syndrome) led to him publishing papers in peer-reviewed journals in the field of chronic pain management. He recently published a patient-centred book entitled ‘Taking Control of Your Pain’ to help those suffering with chronic pain, and to try and help them manage their pain effectively and holistically.
Simon is also a certified Pain Reprocessing Therapist and uses an evidence-based system of psychological techniques that retrains the brain to accurately interpret and respond to signals from the body, breaking the cycle of chronic pain.
Simon is also qualified in Western Medical Acupuncture/dry needling which he uses to help relieve musculoskeletal pain in his patients alongside osteopathy.
Simon is registered with The General Osteopathic Council (GOsC) and is a member of The Institute of Osteopathy (iO). He is also a member of The British Pain Society.
Simon has published a book on pain management
Simon’s book is aimed at those of you who suffer from long standing pain. This includes those of you who feel their pain experience has not been resolved or managed in a satisfactory way; who feel that in the absence of a clearly defined diagnosis they have been left in limbo feeling helpless and hopeless.
The book will also take you on a learning journey to show you how you can change your views about your pain experience. At the same time, it will show you ways to identify the potential drivers of your pain pushing you towards a chronic state. It will help you identify those barriers that hinder the body’s inherent capacity to heal itself. It will help you take control of your pain.
